As it responds to increasing demand for sustainable products that are stylish, easy to install and deliver greater flexibility, ABB has introduced its MISTRAL41 consumer units for use in residential and commercial environments.
With the growing trend for renovating flats and buildings, together with the increasing use of drywall partitions across Europe, ABB has developed its high quality MISTRAL41 consumer units, which give the freedom and flexibility to install any type of electrical distribution system easily and quickly.
Made from halogen-free thermoplastics, MISTRAL41’s construction allows for simple and fast assembly and its flexible design can be adapted for numerous applications.
The IP41-rated units are available in brick or hollow wall versions for flush and surface mounting applications and come in various sizes, with three cable entry options and space for up to 72 DIN modules.
ABB’s Product manager for consumer units, Davide Ruzzon explained: “At ABB, we’re passionate about creating solutions that make life easier for our customers. With MISTRAL41 we’ve created a smarter space for installation ideas, which combines flexibility of design with ease of installation.”
The internal structure of the flush mounted version is designed for easy cabling and an extractable DIN-Rail frame allows for wiring to be done on a workbench. The frame features two rail positions, to allow devices of different depths to be installed in perfect alignment and an additional rail can be added at the base of the consumer unit.
To provide a more secure fastening, the flanges with multi pre-cuts are designed to be sheared only where necessary. A removable flange with knockout holes allows for the reliable and safe placing of flexible pipes and other conduits, especially in drywall installations. In addition, to protect the passage of cables between adjacent units, MISTRAL41 can be coupled side by side, with a horizontal unit accessory.
To make installation easier, MISTRAL41 comes with a wide range of accessories, including specific flanges for cable derivation, a mortar guard that prevents mortar spray inside the brick wall unit, internal partitioning to separate circuits with different voltages and a complete range of terminal bars for Neutral and Ground connections.
As well as being highly functional, the consumer units come in a range of elegant designs, including transparent or opaque doors, both of which can be rotated to open from the left or right.
