China’s largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker “Pan Asia” was launched in Hudong Zhonghua shipyard / Shanghai. The “Pan Asia” is the first tanker for Pan Union LNG project and, with a capacity of 174000 m3, is expected to bring China 1.5 million tons/year of clean energy. The “Pan Asia” integrates dual fuel electric propulsion technology and re-liquefaction plant being a first is a large LNG tanker.
Arca Germany made a remarkable contribution to the re-liquefaction system on the LNG tanker by providing the necessary compressor anti-surge valves. Arca has supplied valves for compressor and anti-surge applications. Final testing will take place from January to March 2017 then it will start transporting LNG produced in Queensland in Australia destined for China.
Serious surging can result in vane fatigue damage in a compressor, hence the installation of anti-surge valves to prevent this centrifugal compressor surge phenomenon. Arca anti-surge valves avoid surging by accurately adjusting the gas circulation or blow-off flow, effectively protecting the safety of the compressor unit. The anti-surge control valves with the multistage cage plug and the fixed noise reduction, ANSI class V metal sealing, perfect configuration of actuator accessories ensure that the compressor does not reach the surge point while ensuring that the downstream pipeline noise remains within a normal range.
Arca Germany was founded nearly 100 years ago and is committed to energy, chemical, steel, food and pharmaceutical, providing high quality process control valves.
