Please find enclosed some of the latest news from Tshwane branch. This is the last news letter for the year and from the branch committee we wish you a festive holiday break and safe travels should you be fortunate to go away over this period.
Past Social Evening:
Our last function of the year was a visit and meal at Cheers Restaurant arranged kindly by Mark from Dessoft. Approximately 20 people attended event and included dignitary from MERSETA, thank you to Nico of E&H for sending invites on as always and for people who attended.
During the event also notably Mr. Des Burrows from Rascals was awarded a certificate as recognition for them being a patron of the Tshwane branch patrons. Although they have been scarce we were promised a visit in the new year. Welcome to our branch. PS Should you wish to be a patron and get benefits that arise from either national / branch level please contact one of us on the committee or Ina at National.
Call for presentations / speakers:
SAIMC Tshwane invites all patrons (national plus Tshwane) to advise urgently if they wish to present during the 2018 year so we may plan. Jurie from Afrilek has compiled a prelim schedule and we hope to conclude program early in January 2018 at our branch committee strategy meeting. After that we will open it up to other parties. Kindly note there is a few associated to presenting, etc. which is used to pay towards venue.
AGM Evening Invite:
We will resume presentations again early next year starting on 7th of February with the AGM and a presentation. More will be communicated re this closer to the time. We have some openings on branch committee so should you be interested and available to be part of the committee please contact us prior to AGM to ensure we comply with nomination process.
Some brief feedback re past period:
FIRST ROBOTICS SA: Thank you to all our media partners promoting FIRST, much appreciated! In terms of our MoU we have had a very comprehensive discussion complete with votes and is in final process to conclude agreement, etc. While this is a national initiative it was initiated right here in Tshwane…
Industry Trade Association (etc): A follow up meeting is planned with a professional entity which specialise in establishing these and more correspondence will follow in due course re it. We will be looking for people / companies to be part of our network, etc. Contact Petrus / Mark if you require more information. We are still sorting out paper work re it. PS Ms. Hart from Manufacturing Indaba has also reverted back to SAIMC re progress in obtaining funding for SAIMC to have people qualify in Automation.
SAIMC NAT COM: Other than FIRST initiative mentioned above we as Tshwane congratulate Oratile on making the news in Zambia with his visit as per enclosed:
Petrus was fortunate to have the opportunity to represent SAIMC at the aforementioned event where he spoke about using Industrial Automation to lock in savings i.t.o. energy and resource efficiency and cleaner production. The presentation will be loaded on SAIMC web site and will also be published into a book form with a ISBN number which should count to bonus points for the branch. Overall the presentation was well received and attended by some high-profile visitors. Petrus is also to convert presentation to a short form article after which our respective media partners will publish it via their channels. Should you need any thing re this please feel free to comment. PS Image below is from NCPC who was also present and hopefully we can start to cross share successes going forward…
Nothing planned until AGM next year and committee meeting before then.
Nothing to report
For more information please contact any one of the committee members. We appreciate any new members so also please feel free to share.
