Dear SAIMC member / interested party. 02 October 2017
Please find enclosed some of the latest news from Tshwane branch.
Past technical Evening:
For the September technical evening we were fortunate to have Mr. Jaco Marneweck from the National Regulator for Compulsory Specification (NRCS) present to us on the subject of “Legal requirements for custody transfer meters”. The presentation (which is available) gave an overview of “legal metrology” and NRCS role in relation to this as well of benefits of moving towards legal metrology. Some examples were presented along with procedure on how works is done. The requirements were also presented. Finally, the inspection or surveillance aspects was also discussed. The presentation ended with some case studies to further emphasise the importance of the subject.
