Some brief feedback re past period:

SAIMC NAT COM: For latest news re National developments be sure to monitor Technews Publication as always. Some noteworthy items to mention in the interim include: 1. An Automation Breakfast is planned for mid-September to provide feedback on latest developments in relation to our profession and way forward as per interaction with government bodies based on best practices from another program, should you be interested re more info / invite kindly contact Ina, 2. NAT COM requires branches to implement succession planning at various levels and we appreciate volunteers who wish to serve on the respective committees. This is an awesome initiative to develop leadership skills and to add to one’s experience in terms of contribution to our profession… If able to assist, please let us know so we can look at mentorship.

Kindly note our annual gala dinner is set for Friday 26th of October, contact Ina for invite info.

Training Days: Thank you to those who attended our two days of training and to following companies who provided training: E&H (Jurie), Rascals (Clifford), Dessoft (Mark), Aerosud, Ai2SA and KPMG (Muhammad). It’s a pity that while 18 people said they would attend only around 6 to 8 showed up so we will have to look at how / if to do same next year. One idea may be to ask for a nominal fee to at least cover our costs associated to the event… On that note also a special thank you to NLA for hosting us.

Golf Day: “SAIMC Tshwane branch once again welcomed some of our national patrons and other esteemed guests at our annual golf day, hosted the 15th of August at the very prestigious Centurion Country Golf club. Some of the teams represented included: Afrilek, ATTS, Barnard Inc, IFM, Irritron, Kagano, Levivi, Loadtech, Pepperl Fuchs, Phoenix, Proconics, Rodecon, Shorrock Automation, Siemens, Thenga Holding and Vega. Our Gold sponsor for the event was Proconics who’s one team also came second in terms of scoring. Loadtech was 3rd overall while the honours of being 1st went to ATTS. We are very appreciative of the companies who supported the event and from feedback received sounds like participants had lots of fun”.
