Bosch Projects, wins the SAPSA 2019 Engineering Young Professional Award

Jeshika Ramchund, Lead Engineer – Developments, for Bosch Projects, was presented with the 2019 South African Professional Services Awards (SAPSA) Engineering Young Professional of the Year Award, at a function held in Johannesburg recently.

“We are very proud of Jeshika for winning this award and for the important role she plays at Bosch Projects. A recent accolade for Bosch Projects, was the Wastewater division in KwaZulu-Natal, winning the SAICE Durban Region’s award for the Most Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement in the category of Community Based Projects for the Provision of Water and Sanitation Services to Informal Settlements in eThekwini, with Jeshika as project leader for the Bosch Projects team during Phase 3,” says Mike Gibbon, CEO, Bosch Holdings.

According to Jeshika, awards aren’t just about winning. They highlight that the collective team – client, consultants, programme managers, contractors and communities – have successfully worked together, to achieve deliverables that will have a direct impact on the lives of those who most need it. Jeshika believes this is a constant reminder of the essential role engineers play.

“The Bosch Project team benefits from Bosch Interact, an initiative that aims to develop young professionals as the next generation of leaders to take the industry forward. The company launched this programme to enhance and encourage interpersonal skills, professional development and participation in industry initiatives, to complement the technical skills we learn during projects,” explains Jeshika Ramchund. “The Bosch Way, which prioritises transformation, is demonstrated by Bosch Projects achieving a Level 1 as a contributor to BBBEE. I believe transformation must be a deliberate and an unapologetic way to do business better, thereby creating an inclusive and responsive environment and harnessing the best of all our people.

“Good client relationships and professionalism in every aspect of our business, are also part of the Bosch Way and are achieved through effective management, planning and foresight. As a consulting engineering firm of infrastructure and industrial specialists, we pride ourselves on exceeding clients’ expectations. Our commitment to delivering consistently exceptional service and infrastructure on every project is non-negotiable.”

Jeshika was also selected as one of the Mail and Guardian’s 200 Young South Africans to Watch for in 2018, in the Science and Technology category.

At the 2019 SAPSA awards function, Bosch Capital – also a member of Bosch Holdings – won the Consulting Firm of the Year Award and Chris Baloyi, Bosch Capital’s Managing Director, was nominated for the Professional of the Year Award.
