Bosch Rexroth SA conducts first external hydraulics training course in Chinese

Bosch Rexroth South Africa’s renowned hydraulic training course was recently conducted for Afritop SA employees. It was the first time the Training department had to adapt its MerSETA-accredited training course in Chinese.
Afritop SA, a distributor of mining machinery and equipment, required hydraulic training and accreditation for its qualified diesel mechanics to service mining equipment for a client in Limpopo.
Bosch Rexroth South Africa regularly conducts hydraulics and pneumatics training, as well as system specific training for its customers. However, this was a unique experience as none of the participants were English-speaking and due to the language barrier, a translator was contracted to assist. The training was arranged in less than a week and took place at the Rexroth Hubb over a period of four days in its fully equipped, interactive training facility where live demonstrations on the use of machinery was included.
Group Training Manager, Allen van Gent, spoke positively about the experience, “I was very impressed by the way the learners conducted themselves and their discipline and eagerness, especially when it came to adaptation. The first English word learned and used most frequently by the delegation during the training was ‘teacher’.
“With a minimum pass rate of 70%, all learners passed the course with flying colours, achieving up to 86%. Each participant is now accredited with training in hydraulics and is certified to conduct the repair work required of them.”
Bosch Rexroth South Africa offers comprehensive hydraulics and pneumatics training, as well as system specific training on entire systems, across the continent. Courses offered are not industry specific and can be tailored to improve specific skill sets, from basic through to advanced levels.
