Elevate Your Engineering Game with Chempute Software: Your Trusted Partner Since 1986!

chempute

Established in 1986, Chempute has become a leading specialist provider of software solutions for various engineering disciplines, including plant and piping design, chemical, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation engineering.

The first software solution supplied by Chempute in 1986 was CAESAR II, a pipe stress analysis program, now branded as Hexagon CAESAR II.  After 37 years, our user base has grown significantly, extending its reach across South Africa and the broader African region. Under the Hexagon umbrella, Chempute proudly serves as the representative for PV Elite, a premier software solution for Pressure Vessel Design and Analysis.  TANK® is a comprehensive, easy-to-use program for the design, analysis, and evaluation of welded steel oil storage tanks according to American Petroleum Institute (API) Standards 620, 650 and 653.

One of our specialties is Plant Design. CADWorx Plant was released in 1996, which has since been rebranded as Hexagon CADWorx Plant Professional. Over time, the CADWorx platform has expanded to include design elements outside of Piping and Equipment such as Structural, Electrical and Instrumentation.

In a significant development, Hexagon announced the launch of the CADWorx® Electrical and Instrumentation Design Suite in August 2023. Powered by the Elecdes Design Suite, this comprehensive solution comprises three modules: CADWorx Electrical, CADWorx Instrumentation, and CADWorx Raceway. These modules are engineered to streamline workflows, facilitate collaboration, and produce fast and accurate deliverables.

Chemical Process Simulation

In 1988 Chempute Software became the African representative of Chemstations and their software, ChemCAD.

CHEMCAD is an integrated suite of intuitive chemical process simulation software that fits into the chemical engineering workflow and supercharges an engineer’s efficiency. Perhaps most significantly, it continues to evolve to meet the ever-expanding needs of chemical engineers.

From modelling entire refineries to predicting thermophysical properties, ChemCAD is a tool that provides fast and accurate calculations to design, analyse and debottleneck chemical processes.

Modeling gas or liquid piping systems

In 1998, Chempute established a reseller partnership with AFT (Applied Flow Technologies).

AFT Fathom is used to calculate pressure drop and flow distribution in liquid and low-velocity gas piping and ducting systems.

AFT Arrow is used to calculate pressure drop and flow distribution in gas piping and ducting systems.

AFT Impulse Analysis software used to calculate pressure surge transients in liquid piping systems caused by waterhammer.

AFT xStream is a powerful fluid dynamic simulation tool for high-speed, acoustic transients that occur in steam and gas piping systems.

A DWG based CAD Platform

In 2017, Chempute expanded its offerings by becoming a representative of Bricsys, a global provider of modern DWG based CAD software under the BricsCAD brand, known for its competitive pricing and industry-leading product support.

The most recent release, BricsCAD® V23, brings significant enhancements in CAD software performance and offers robust in-product collaboration features. BricsCAD products are available in four distinct options, catering to a wide range of user requirements and budget considerations.

BricsCAD® Lite is the preferred option for 2D drafting tasks, providing all the capabilities of AutoCAD® LT and additional features.

BricsCAD Pro familiar DWG‐based 2D & 3D CAD with AI‐driven productivity tools.

BricsCAD Mechanical offers comprehensive mechanical design and documentation tools that work in BricsCAD’s familiar user environment – and it is all in DWG format.  For architects and structural engineers.

BricsCAD BIM presents an alternative Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflow that commences in 3D and remains exclusively in the 3D realm. This approach provides a design-to-documentation BIM workflow with a primary emphasis on the initial design phase.

Training & Technical Support

Operating from our offices in Durban and Johannesburg, training is one of Chempute’s core services. We provide a diverse range of training courses, encompassing CAESAR II Statics & Dynamic, ASME B31 Piping Design, ASME Section VIII Pressure Vessel Design, EN13480 Piping Design, AFT (Applied Flow Technologies) Hydraulic training and more.

Our commitment lies in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and hands-on utilization of different software tools, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience.  Every course offered by Chempute is accredited by The South African Institution of Mechanical Engineering (SAIMechE) and qualifies for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits.

Another fundamental component of our services is software support. What sets us apart is our dedicated commitment to providing direct user support.

Our qualified support staff possess a deep understanding of the design environments in which our users operate. This expertise enables us to offer support that is targeted and direct, surpassing the level of focus provided by any of our competitors.

Chempute Software offers the correct solutions to increase productivity, minimize costs and achieve business success. We do this by building long lasting relationships through exceptional service to all our clients.
