Its ladies only at Atlas Copco’s Women’s Day celebration
Atlas Copco’s female employees play a valuable role in ensuring the seamless operation and success of the company. To celebrate and show appreciation for the hard work of these talented ladies, the global industrial engineering specialist hosted its annual Women’s Day brunch on 16 August 2019.
“Our remarkable ladies demonstrate their loyalty and dedication towards Atlas Copco every day and Women’s Day presents us with the perfect platform to recognise their efforts and to make them feel special,” states Wendy Buffa-Pace, Corporate Human Resources & Communications Manager at Atlas Copco.
In addition to a scrumptious brunch, the Atlas Copco ladies had the unique opportunity to participate in calligraphy class where they picked up some artistic penmanship skills. “This year we wanted to do something that we have never done before and as calligraphy is not that widely known, our female employees had the opportunity to learn something new,” notes Wendy.
The calligraphy class served as an excellent team-building activity as the ladies, representing all three business areas – Compressor Technique, Industrial Technique and Power Technique – had the chance to socialise and work together, assisting each other in their writing efforts and letting their creativity shine.
The enthusiastic ladies then settled in for an inspirational talk by Gretha Cook. As a cancer survivor, Gretha shared a strong message of hope both within yourself as well as from the people around you who are there to love and support you. Gretha encouraged the ladies to never give up and to keep on fighting.
All 60 ladies who attended the highly successful event received, as token of appreciation, lavender-scented stress clay to bring some calm to those stressful moments.
Wrapping up, Wendy says that it was heart-warming to receive such positive feedback from the ladies who thoroughly enjoyed the day’s activities. “Atlas Copco strives to continue enhancing our women empowerment drive so that we remain an employer of choice.”
