The loading frame is the structural heart of the mill, responsible for transferring hydraulic loading forces into grinding forces essential for effective coal grinding. Premature wear on a component like this, jeopardizing its structural integrity, can be devastating for the mill.
Failure to address this issue carries significant financial and operational consequences. Over the next decade, the cost of equipment replacement will be substantial if the root cause of wear remains unresolved. Beyond direct capital expenditures, the increased risk of unplanned outages and extended mill downtime can severely impact overall plant efficiency, leading to higher maintenance costs and reduced operational reliability.
Traditionally, the replacement of a mill’s loading frame (because it is a solid A-frame) is a complex and time-consuming process, often taking up to four months. Recognizing this challenge, EnFloTech developed an innovative split loading frame design (installable through maintenance doors), drastically reducing replacement time from four months to just 21 days. This breakthrough is now being deployed in the power generation sector, with EnFloTech currently manufacturing two split loading frames for installation.
