Steinmüller Africa invests in education at two Mpumalanga schools
Continuing its commitment to uplifting local communities, Steinmüller Africa is improving schools in Evander and eMalahleni, Mpumalanga. Equipment and renovations have been donated to both schools, with the school in Evander still being refurbished. These schools were strategically selected, ensuring the company’s contributions directly benefit residents in areas central to Steinmüller Africa’s plant maintenance operations.
Emdibini Combined School in Evander received two water tanks, solar panel installations, upgraded electric wiring and a storage facility for improved daily functionality. We are currently refurbishing dilapidated classrooms and customising playgrounds for learners. Steinmüller Africa’s Communications Officer, Mpho Mafela, remarked, “We hope our contribution will make the school a conducive space for effective teaching and learning”.
At Mmagobana Combined School in eMalahleni, a playground was designed and built by a team of apprentices from Steinmüller Africa’s Technical Training Centre as part of its purpose-driven strategy. The apprentices managed the entire project, from sourcing materials to construction, gaining valuable hands-on fabrication and welding experience while deepening their understanding of Steinmüller Africa’s community upliftment initiatives. The playground, featuring a swing set and slide, was completed in April 2024.
The donations to the schools will provide lasting benefits for both communities. Steinmüller Africa Director, Moso Bolofo, stated, “By investing in education, we help drive society forward. Steinmüller Africa is proud to shape a brighter future for the communities we serve”.
These projects follow Steinmüller Africa’s previous initiatives, such as the extensive renovations at schools in Bethal and Kriel, which have already made a significant difference in those communities.
